Clearview plastic cartons have been proven to reduce damage during the packaging process at the grader. In four independent tests, performed by the same USDA grader at the same facility, Clearview cartons out performed the competition. In each test two 15 dozen cases of the same carton type where randomly selected from the conveyor leading to palletizing. According to the “Shell Egg Online Candling Record Worksheet” produced by the USDA grader at the facility the results are as follows:
Interplast Tri-Fold Carton
Test #1 sample (1) 10% checks Test #2 sample (1) 8% checks
sample (2) 10% checks sample (2) 14% checks
Clearview Carton
Test #1 sample (1) 2% checks Test #2 sample (1) 2% checks
sample(2) 1% checks sample(2) 3% checks
In another independent test performed by a major egg producer in Texas and validated by the on site USDA grader Clearview cartons proved to reduce damage in shipping. One sample of 60 x 15 dozen cases of large white eggs was palletized, shrink wrapped and placed on a route truck to travel for 1 day. Upon the return of the truck, all eggs where re-candled. The results are as follows:
60 cases X 15 dozen = 900 large white shell eggs
Checks determined by on sight USDA Grader to be cased by transportation = 7 eggs
